Our brand new nursery, Arcadia @ Easter Bush, is on course to open it's doors on Tuesday 21st August 2018. Set in the heart of the countryside, Arcadia @ Easter Bush is located at the Easter Bush campus.

Set against a stunning backdrop, the large purpose-built setting will provide children with the opportunity to grow and learn in a natural environment. Children will have access to a large outdoor space with fantastic views of wildlife and countryside.

We are excited to see what our new nursery has to offer.

The team

The new nursery will be led by experienced manager Doreen McMillan who will be supported by Karen Gilhooly, Business & Administration Manager, and Miranda Sleven, Deputy Manager. Doreen and her staff are a well-established team as they join the Arcadia family from the pre-existing Forest Friends nursery at the Roslin Biocentre, which will close it's doors before relocating.

Doreen and her team have many years experience as well as a range of knowledge and skills. They are excited to take on this new adventure and look forward to expanding and growing in the years ahead.

Doreen, Karen and the team will be on hand to support the children and their families to settle in to their new environment at the end of the month.

The environment

At Arcadia @ Easter Bush our large, purpose-built setting provides a natural and stimulating environment for children to grow and learn. We have three open-plan playrooms which accommodate up to 78 children. Harmony our 0-2 room can take 18 0-2 year olds, Peace our 2-3 room can take 20 children, and Serenity our 3-5 room can take 40 children.

The open-plan playrooms support free play and the free-flow access to the garden gives children the choice to play indoors or outdoors. The garden is an extension of our indoor environment and provides many learning opportunities for the children.

The large, open-plan dining rooms allows children to enjoy meals and snacks in a sociable environment. We have shared spaces between each playroom which allows the children to interact with different age groups, which helps transitions for children.
