Our practice is shaped by Scotland's national early years guidance and reflects the latest research into how young children learn and thrive. These frameworks ensure that every child receives the highest quality early learning experiences through play, meaningful relationships and child-centred learning.

Our curriculum and practice are informed by:
  • Curriculum for Excellence (Early Level) – supporting children to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.
  • Realising the Ambition: Being Me (2020) – Scotland's national practice guidance for early years, placing children's wellbeing, play, relationships and curiosity at the heart of learning.
  • Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) – ensuring every child receives the right support, at the right time, to help them flourish.
  • The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) – recognising every child's right to be heard, respected and included in decisions that affect them.
  • My World Outdoors – promoting high-quality outdoor learning experiences that encourage exploration, resilience and a lifelong love of nature.
