Healthy eating is essential for proper growth and development in childhood (NHS Health Scotland, 2015).

At Arcadia nursery, we are very conscious of the importance of both providing healthy food within the nursery and also promoting positive attitudes towards healthy eating.

Our menus are carefully planned in accordance with 'Setting the Table: Nutritional guidance and food standards for early years childcare providers in Scotland (NHS Health Scotland, 2015). The menus provide fresh, wholesome and balanced meals and snacks.

Children are encouraged to enjoy their meals in a positive and sociable environment. Children are supported to develop independence through making healthy choices, exploring a wide variety of foods and learning to feed themselves.

More information on nutritional guidance can be found here.
